Kérastase Gloss Absolu: The Secret to Smooth, Frizz-Free Hair

There’s a shift happening in hair right now.

Less about over-styling. More about hair that feels soft, looks polished, and reflects light naturally. Hair that moves easily, resists humidity, and holds its shape without feeling heavy.

At Dwell, we call this effortless finish — and one of our favorite ways to achieve it is with the Kérastase Gloss Absolu collection.

Designed to smooth frizz, boost shine, and protect the hair from humidity, this system creates that glossy, healthy look that works with your lifestyle, not against it.

What Is Gloss Absolu?

The Gloss Absolu collection is an anti-frizz, high-shine haircare system designed to hydrate, smooth, and polish the hair fiber.

When used as a complete routine, it delivers:

  • Up to 4 days of anti-frizz protection

  • Softer, more manageable hair

  • Increased shine and bounce

  • Lightweight hydration without buildup

The goal isn’t heavy, coated hair. It’s hair that feels clean, smooth, and naturally luminous.

What makes Gloss Absolu different is how it treats the hair at the fiber level.

Hydration with Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid helps draw moisture into the hair, plumping the cuticle and reducing dryness.

Polishing with Glycolic Acid

Glycolic acid smooths the hair's surface, allowing it to reflect light more evenly, creating a glossy finish.

Together, this creates what Kérastase calls a hydra-glazing effect: hydrated hair that’s smoothed and sealed for shine and frizz control.

The Gloss Absolu Routine

This system is simple, effective, and designed to work together.

Step 1: Bain Hydra-Glaze Shampoo (fine to medium hair) or Bain Creme Hydra-Glaze (medium to thick hair)

Bain Hydra is customized for different textures. Bain Hydra-Glaze Shampoo is a lightweight, gel-based formula that removes buildup while smoothing and hydrating hair. It preps the cuticle for shine without stripping moisture. Reveals an ultra shine. Bain Creme Hydra-Glaze offers a high shine sulfate-free shampoo for medium to thick hair prone to frizz. Offers intense hydration and detangling.

Step 2: Gloss Absolu Insta Glaze Anti-Frizz Conditioner or Masque Crème Hydra-Glaze Anti-Frizz Hair Mask

Conditioner/Fondant is for hair-washing routines more than once a week. If you are a 1x-a-week washer, you get the masque. It's not heavy, but it is more concentrated to ensure you're not leaving benefit on the table.

Step 3: Gloss Absolu Frizz-Glaze Heat Protectant (medium to thick hair) or Gloss Absolu Glaze Milk (medium to fine hair)

Frizz-Glaze heat protectant is a smoothing styling cream for medium-to-thick hair prone to frizz. Protects against frizz in up to 80% humidity.

Glaze Milk offers an all-in-one smoothing spray for fine to medium hair prone to frizz. Heat & humidity protection, detangles, smooths, and hydrates.

Step 4: Anti-Frizz Glaze Drops

A lightweight finishing oil that enhances shine, smooths the hair, and locks out humidity. Just a small amount adds polish without weighing the hair down.

(Used all together, the result is hair that feels soft, looks glossy, and holds up through everyday wear.)

Step 5: Gloss Absolu Le Parfum Hair Perfume

An on-the-go hair perfume in the Gloss Absolu signature fragrance. A mesmerizing citrus-and-floral, long-lasting scent leaves hair irresistibly softer. Great for refreshing the scent on the go or in between washes.

Why This Matters in Fort Worth

If you live in Fort Worth or the surrounding areas, you know humidity isn’t something you can ignore.

Frizz, puffiness, and loss of shape are some of the most common concerns we hear from guests — especially as seasons shift.

The Gloss Absolu system helps address exactly that. By smoothing the cuticle and locking in hydration, it creates a barrier that helps protect your hair from air moisture.

The result is hair that stays smoother, longer — even in unpredictable weather.

4 Days of a Frizz-Free Blowout

This system works beautifully for guests who:

  • Struggle with frizz or humidity

  • Feel like their hair looks dull or dry

  • Want more shine without heavy oils

  • Love a polished blowout or smooth finish

  • Want hair that looks “done” with minimal effort

It’s especially helpful for anyone trying to simplify their routine while still getting elevated results.

Pairing Gloss Absolu with Your Services

Healthy, shiny hair enhances everything.

At Dwell, we often recommend Gloss Absolu alongside:

  • Dimensional color services to enhance light reflection

  • Grey blending for a softer, more luminous finish

  • Blowouts for smooth, long-lasting styling

  • In-salon treatments for added hydration and strength

When the hair is smooth and reflective, color looks brighter, cuts look more defined, and styles last longer.

Simple, Effective At-Home Routine

One of the best parts of Gloss Absolu is how easy it is to use:

  1. Cleanse with Bain Hydra-Glaze Shampoo

  2. Masque or Fondant

  3. Apply Anti-Frizz Glaze Milk or Frizz Glaze Heat Protectant before styling

  4. Finish with 1–2 pumps of Glaze Drops

  5. Keep it fresh all day with Hair Parfum

That’s it. No complicated routine — just consistent, noticeable results.
